Bubur Sitohap (sitohap porridge)


Bubur Sitohap
Bubur Sitohap (sitohap porridge) is a typical food Silalahi population on the edge of Lake Toba, North Sumatra.
Ingredients of making porridge is the same as other types of porridge is rice and chicken with onion, garlic, ginger, hazelnut and andaliman (spices typical of Batak).
This kind of porridge called gruel sitohap due to wear sitohap leaves that made the difference with other pulp. This leaves only available in the wild in the mountains of Lake Toba and for culinary purposes is longer, the leaves can be preserved.
In addition to unique ways of cooking (it took 5 hours to process this porridge), how to eat it is also unique. Sitohap slurry is poured into a container that is specific to a pulp.
